The link is a letter to parents from Mrs Frazer and the Chair/Vice Chair of the Governors posted to all parents via School Dojo on 17th January 2021.
All our families are now signed up to their ClassDojo. This is great news and we thank you for your co-operation.
You will no doubt have discovered for yourselves the benefits of being a part of the ClassDojo but from the school’s point of view it is a much more efficient and quicker way of communicating daily information compared to having to upload to the website. Our website will continue to host information about the school and pupil activities but for the latest news please continue to check your ClassDojo.
Thank you again for embracing this new technology.
Dear Parents and Carers,
Reporting symptoms after the school closes for Christmas Holidays
Newton Hall Infant School will close on December 18th. If your child develops symptoms of coronavirus you must book a test.
If your child develops symptoms up to and including December 18th which result in a positive test up to 24th December, you must inform the school by Class Dojo or email.
Please include the name of your child, their class and the date that their symptoms started, as well as your own contact details.
From Monday 21st December
If your child develops coronavirus symptoms from Monday 21st December onwards, they must be tested and, if positive, follow the advice of Test and Trace. You do not need to inform the school of any symptoms which occur after this date.
Mrs. L. Frazer
Thank you for your donations to Break the Rules Day. You have raised £178.75 for the PTA.
We had a lovely day on Wednesday celebrating Newton Hall Infants’ School 50th anniversary. The children and staff came in their gold party clothes and wore gold crowns throughout the day. Everyone joined in. Mrs Frazer showed us a school diary recording day to day activities 50 years ago. When the school opened, only a chosen few were invited to the party – just one way in which things have changed!
To mark this special occasion, we have a new sculpture in the front garden. We are, as ever, very thankful to our PTA who donated the money to purchase it. The children have named the sculpture “Feathers”. He looks very grand sitting above the colourful display of “perfect pebbles”, each with your child’s initial. But there’s more…we have buried a time capsule so that in another 50 years’ time, the future children at our school can dig it up and find out a little bit of history. Who knows it might be dug up by our children’s children or even grandchildren! Finally, our children have recorded their name and class on a colourful disc which has been added to a painted tree in the hall to make a beautiful display and a record of who was at Newton Hall Infants’ School on 25th November 2020.
We would also like to thank Mrs Turnbull and Miss Yates in the kitchen for adapting the usual school dinner and decorating the serving hatch for our party lunch. We can report that the children very much enjoyed their lunchtime.
Here are a few pictures from our special day…
At this time of year we usually get many requests from prospective parents to view the school to see if it feels right for their child. Sadly, this year we cannot conduct tours of the school so we have posted a virtual tour on our Parents page for new families considering Newton Hall Infants’ School. The staff so enjoyed looking at the video that we thought you might like to see it too. It’s only the building, no children but still entertaining.
So, sit back, click the link and enjoy the tour…
Thank you for your donations to Children in Need.
We counted the pennies and the pounds and have sent £175.27 to BBC Children in Need.
Also must say, the children looked lovely today in their kits. They have had an assortment of fun in their classrooms whether it was designing a sports outfit for Pudsey or Blush, helping Joe Wicks complete his 24 hour PE challenge, Children in Need bingo or maths or colouring. Though no doubt if you ask, “what have you done at school today?”, you will get the usual answer, “Nothing.” Hope not.
Have a good weekend.
Please see the list of confirmed catch up clinics for children who missed their appointment for the flu spray in school. Further sessions may to be added and changes may be unavoidable due to the current COVID-19 pandemic.
