Dear Parents and Carers
RE: Relationship and Health Education
In preparation for meeting the statutory duty on schools from September 2020 to deliver Relationships and Health Education, we have been reviewing our school curriculum and policy.
We believe that good relationship and health education is essential if we are to equip our children for the modern world, enabling them to make informed decisions and stay safe.
The updated policy is now available on our school website along with a summary of what is taught. An overview of the curriculum can be seen below.
|Families and people who care for me||
All topic areas will be dealt with at an age appropriate level and in a safe environment. We will endeavour to answer questions honestly and to use correct terminology for body parts as stated in the National Curriculum for Science.
|Being healthy including, healthy eating, physical health and fitness, dental health, personal hygiene, harmful substances|
|Basic first aid – who to call in an emergency|
This is a very important aspect of our children’s education and we would welcome any feedback from you as we progress.
